UK.Match.com is one of the most – if not THE most – well known and relied upon internet dating websites there is, and it’s easy to see why. With a massive database of members who are looking for dates in the United Kingdom, UK.Match.com is our number one choice UK dating website. A basic search for single people in your area and further afield will blow your mind. You’ll receive thousands of results, each with a profile telling you all about themselves, what they’re looking for, and nearly all of them are accompanied by high quality photos.

UK.Match.com isn’t a dictator, you can come from anywhere, from any walk of life, be looking for any kind of relationship. You’ll soon realise that simply browsing through random profiles – as fun as it can be – probably won’t find the ideal person for you. We’re all different and we’re all looking for different things, and uk.match.com understands this; uk.match.com has produced a sophisticated searching system which allows you to be as general or specific as you like about which profiles you want to view. You can see all profiles, or just people with light brown hair if you so wish. Choose who to view based on their interests, their religion, their lifestyle choices, whether they have kids, or simply how far away they are from you. Match.com UK has so many members that even the most picky internet daters will likely find someone to fit their preferences.

So why not a perfect score? Well primarily this comes down to two things: features and customer service/help. That’s not to say that the features or customer service are bad, but that there are other sites out there which offer a few extras. UK.Match.com’s features primarily revolve around search functions, with instant messaging or email options. You can also send winks to show people you’re interested in them without having to say very much (or anything) at all. This is a quick and easy way to show members that you’ve an interest in getting to know them better. But you can’t do a great deal beyond chatting through email or instant messages. If you’re someone who is interested in having a virtual date, perhaps even booking events or attending social functions, chatting on social boards or engaging in debates, reading articles and so on... then UK.Match.com is somewhat lacking.

The customer service consists of a series of themed links which take you into an FAQ style database. If you can’t find your answer then you can email the staff members who will try their best to get back to you promptly, though of course this isn’t always the quickest route to a solution. A larger FAQ section which is accessible without much hassle would help to solve the majority of problems, and so could use a bit of an update on uk.match.com. That said, most issues can be resolved through the information available on the help section, but more unique problems may take a little time to resolve.

Match.com UK is excellent value for money, particularly if you get a 6 month deal. A key reason for this is that UK.Match.com amalgamated with DatingDirect.com and Matchic.com in 2009, so if you join UK.Match.com then you have access to all three sites. They are all very similar in construction, though a search on each delivers you different members’ profiles, and Meetic.com in particular has more of a European focus than uk.match.com. The three sites are linked to one membership, however, so logging in on any of the three sites will use the same profile and your messages will all be accessible from each. It is worth remembering, however, that uk.match.com will automatically re-subscribe, so once your membership period has run out you need to cancel it manually if you do not want to continue being billed for the service.  

One of the joys of UK.Match.com is its combination of simplicity with choice. If you want to create a very in depth profile then you can. If you wish to keep things basic then that’s fine. Searching can be as basic or complex as you like, you can contact members by merely sending a wink or by writing a more substantial email to them. It’s also really useful to be able to filter your searches to only see those who are currently online and/or have pictures. This way you can avoid spending time and effort writing engaging messages to people, only to find that they never respond because they aren’t using the site much (or at all any more). Instant messaging also becomes a lot more tactful when you know people are already online, and creating a list of favourites helps you to relocate members who you are most interested in getting to know.
