Currently, Match.com UK is the biggest and best known dating website within the UK, and for good reason too. With 4.6 million British members, the chances of finding a date are high. Coupled with their Make Love Happen Guarantee, we'd say you're very likely to find someone special. There are plenty of special features that have been created especially for you, the customer, which makes using Match.com simple, fun and fast.

Firstly, Match.com UK's free services are extensive. Obviously you don't get all the perks of a paid-up member, however you do get more than enough to give you a feel for what the site offers. We really liked the fact that, you can create a profile without paying, use their comprehensive search engine (which includes options to see those online, or within a certain radius to where you're living) and even see the number of people who have viewed your profile. This definitely is a useful tool for those who think they wouldn't be suited for online dating, or those who are curious as to how much interest they would ignite.

In terms of fees, we believe they are very reasonable, offer good value for money and are in line with other dating sites. If you wish to sign up for a subscription, you're offered a free 7-day trial, with unlimited access to all of Match.com UK's features. This isn't currently offered by any of the other big dating sites at the moment. Whilst you do have to give your card details to sign up for this trial, it's easy to cancel if you don't wish to move on to paying for a subscription, making it a very good offer for those starting out in online dating.

After the free 7 day trial, you'll probably want to sign up for good anyway, and with prices like £10.88 per month for 6 months there's no reason not to! Not only are fees per month lower if you sign up for 6 months, but there's the added incentive of the Make Love Happen Guarantee: if you don't find anyone special within the first 6 months, Match.com UK will give you another 6 months of paid-up membership for free. We believe this shows how confident Match are of there being someone special for everyone. Therefore, it's well worth signing up initially for the full 6 months as you're basically guaranteed a date within a year! Fees are paid in one, simple payment which is handy for those who have trouble remembering which Direct Debit is coming out of which account and when. All the payments are manageable, which means paying in installments is unnecessary.

When it comes to searching for that special someone, Match.com really have made their search feature as comprehensive as possible. You can choose basic options, such as age range, sex and how close they live to you, but also if they have a photo, their build, ethnicity or education level. Once again, this is another great positive with Match.com. Allowing you to be specific decreases the risk of people being disappointed. Moreover, Match.com UK have developed MatchWords, which are keywords people associate with themselves (which may be hobbies or something about their physical appearance) which we believe are really handy when it comes to making or searching profiles. If you're after someone with Celtic heritage, for instance, all you need to do is use the MatchWords search feature then go through all the results. This is very good for picking out specific qualities which may not appear in a standard profile and therefore helps enhance your chances of finding a match. You can save your searches too, which makes searching for the same features really quick and easy.

When you find someone you like, it's so easy to get in contact. You can wink at them, or send them an email, then they can get back in contact with you. For those worried about safety on the internet, there is a useful feature allowing you to express your lack of interest in another user which keeps you free from unwanted attention. If those emails and winks lead to something, the Connections Page is very, very good for keeping track of all those lovely people! We think this is a very nice feature, as it allows you to explore past and present interests and maybe reignite old flames!

Lastly, we feel that the Windows Live Alert feature is something that really sells Match.com UK. These immediately notify you of any contact through MSN, email or mobile phone which helps you to keep your profile active. As previously mentioned, you can see whether users are online or not, so with these alerts, you're more likely to catch those you're interested in when they're online and therefore increase the possibility of future contact!
