If you’re looking for some roe-mance then fishdating.co.uk might be the site for you! It might sound a tall tail, but if we know about any-fin, it’s dating websites, and we don’t make mist-hakes. Okay, you’ve probably haddock-nuff of these puns flying about the plaice. That’s enough now, really, on to the review...

Fishdating UK might have a strange name but its system is easy to use and although its client base isn’t massive the profiles it does have tend to be complete and in use. In some ways this is better than a site with millions of users, most of whom abandoned their search long ago and left their profile active. The flip side, of course, is that there’s less “choice”. But you’re not shopping for a new coat, you’re looking for a date, maybe even a relationship, and it’s the individual that matters, not how many people there are to choose from.  

Fishdating UK has a strong emphasis on UK members, as you might expect, and – quite impressively – allows you to search by location to very small parameters using a map system. This is only available to paying members but it’s a useful way of making sure that the people you’re looking for are within a certain area, particularly important if you’re not looking for a long distance relationship.

An aspect which some may find a disappointing feature of fishdating UK is that it focuses on straight relationships. If you’re bisexual or homosexual this isn’t the place for you to find a date. Also, although you are free to create and browse profiles with the free membership you cannot actually send a message to anyone or join a chat with them. Therefore you have to join if you see someone you would like to get to know better, and this isn’t cheap...

Probably the most unwelcome aspect of fishdating UK is the price. At almost £30 for one month it’s one of the most expensive standard dating sites out there. You can, however, arrange to attend events through UK Dating, which is a nice way to meet people in real life in a safe and engaging environment. Those trips aren’t cheap either though, but do include insurance and some transport. But this is your life you’re talking about and maybe it’s worth the £30 or so to get in touch with a few people who might very well make you happy for years.

Fishdating UK is a fine UK dating website with a couple of interesting features. Its members seem quite dedicated and most have made an effort to have a detailed profile, which is a good sign. It’s not cheap, though, and restrictions on the non-paying membership mean that it’s difficult to actually get in touch with someone. Why not mussel in there, it might be bream-ing over with people suited to you! (Sorry we have to get a couple more puns in) Maybe we’ll sea you there.
