Swoon is a slick and professional outfit, its site bold with colour and simple links to get you dating. Once you’ve signed up, the home page will update to be specific to you, showing you members who are currently online so you don’t need to trawl through page after page of profiles looking for someone to chat to when you’ve only a few minutes to spare. Its profiles are better than most, too, with extremely high quality (up to 8MB each with a limit of 20 photos) and some specifics which daters often find important, such as relationship status, kids, hobbies and habits.

Swoon.co.uk could do with a few extras to help boost it to the ranks of ‘amazing’. The features it has are all useful and well thought out, though it could have a few more such as suggested date spots or virtual dates, perhaps even a few useful videos and dating tips. That said, a lot of these sorts of issues are covered in articles and are discussed on the social discussion boards. Its membership is decent but could be better, though as is often the case with dating sites, the more members it has the more members it attracts. So as a well established site its numbers will likely increase. It’s not massively cheap, particularly if you’re only interested in a month long membership, but the longer packages offer good value for money and if you can join when a sale is on you can make a decent saving (which seems to be around 30% off the usual price). Despite a fair amount of information on each profile, the search facilities could also use a few extra options; it seems a shame to miss out on searching by hobbies and interests, for example. These are things you can learn about a person over time and they don’t necessarily matter to many people.

Joining and using swoon.co.uk is easy and not time consuming. You aren’t forced to include information you would rather keep to yourself and you can also select various email options so that you aren’t bombarded with emails. This is a nice touch because a lot of dating sites will constantly send you emails trying to make you buy extras or recommending dates, which you don’t always want. Viewing profiles is also simple as you select what you’re looking for in a partner and swoon presents all the matches in a gallery mode where you can also see the age, distance from yourself, and “tag line” of a member. The tag line (or, as they call it, “chat up line”) is a pleasing addition to the system because it means you can get an idea of a member’s personality without having to read a great deal about them. It also lets you to say something which you think will catch the eyes of wandering singles.

Swoon.co.uk is a very good site for UK singles to find honest dates. There are a few improvements it could make to set itself apart from the crowd but for the most part it’s a solid, dependable site which is easy to use and should provide the grounds for happy dating.
