Editor's Verdict:

Loopy Love is a unique site inthe sense that the emphasis is very much on fun. The lack of formality and laid-back approach to online dating has probably helped increase its popularity: member numbers have now grown to 1.5 million UK users.

The 3 day trial period, where you can sample the site for a small fee of £4.99 is very useful. Lots of sites offer free membership but often the full set of features are only available to subscribers. Therefore, this 3 day trial period is very useful in assessing whether or not it's worth splashing out. In terms of fees, for just one month LoopyLove's price is higher than competitors, but for 3 or 6 months prices are in line with other sites. However, unlike some of its competitors, Loopy Love doesn't offer guarantees whereby if you don't find love in 6 months you get a refund or 6 months free. Therefore, you have nothing to fall back on if you don't find someone by the time your subscription expires.

The profile builder caught our attention. Not only do you answer key questions which other members will find useful in basic searches, there is also a quirky question and answer facility that you can take part in. You can ask, for example, what you'd take to a desert island and what you drink when you're out. This, we feel, not only makes building a profile great fun, but it gives potential matches even more of an insight into your personality, making it easier to find love.

Loopy Love have also created a Photo Wall, which allows you to see photos of other members. If one catches your eye then you can hover over their photo to reveal their personal details. This makes it easier to find someone special. The Love Wall has a similar purpose. You can use this to send public messages and interact with other users. This appears on your profile and is a quick and easy way to get in contact with other members.

Unique to Loopy Love is their Lovebomb feature, which allows users to message up to 100 other members. This means you can get your personal page out to a large number of members and thereby increase your chances of a fruitful response. What's more is that the users are chosen in accordance with your default search criteria, so you're almost sure to find someone you like. We thought this was a great idea; no other site has such a feature and  you can be almost certain you'll get a reply.

Whilst the search engine is good, we felt that perhaps it could include other criteria, such as ethnicity or education, to bring it in line with other sites. It is worth mentioning though that whist the search engine isn't quite as strong as it could be, other features make up for this, such as the Photo Wall, which allows you to access plenty of other member's profiles.

Lastly, for those simply looking for friendship, Loopy Love is a great site to use as it accommodates this. Many sites focus solely on dating, but Loopy Love allows you, for example, to send smilies rather than just winks. Those who are new to online dating may not want to commit to looking for someone special straight away, and the fact that this encourages just friendship, as well as being fun and informal, really makes Loopy Love a good place to start if you find the world of online dating intimidating.

In summary, Loopy Love fun and informal and has plenty of great features to get yourself noticed. Of course, on the flipside, this plethora of features may make navigation a little tricky for some people. You don't get a 6-month guarantee like many other sites, and fees for just one month are a little higher than other online dating services, but Loopy Love does offer a convenient 3-day trial. Searches are quick and easy, and the photo wall is an efficient means of checking out all those potential matches. All in all, Loopy Love is well worth a look for those looking for someone special. Those who are new to online dating may be somewhat dissuaded by the realatively high fees and lack of guarantee of finding someone.
