I first starting using DatetheUk some five years ago and to be fair did meet a few genuine people at the time. Alas, that is not the case now, the site seems to be plagued now by fake profiles & spammers. As soon as you register, you will be inundated with expressions of interests by way of winks & e-mails, most of whom have not even viewed your profile. To reply you have to become a paid member & lo and behold once you pay your membership there are no responses to your replies, all e-mails received seem to be generic one-liners. I stress did is not the DatetheUK that I know, previously I had received communication from some genuine people, proper detailed e-mails not the one liners received now such as "how was your day" or "feeling horny?"

DatetheUK has seriously gone downhill, which is a shame as it was once a fun site to use. In summary, my advice would be steer clear unless you want to been taken for a proverbial ride. I am sure there some genuine profiles but these are being increasingly outweighed by the fake ones and automated spam

In summary, I would not recommend Date The UK to a friend.

Ok - the good points. There are a reasonable number of genuine people using the site (though plenty of annoying spammers as well), the facilities and features work well and there is a chance of meeting someone.

The bad - if you use the three day offer you had better cancel it straight away as soon as you have taken it up. This is because they apply a three day notice policy to this (though it is not clear when you sign up!) and then proceed to take a full single month recurrent sub from your bank, even when you cancel and get the cancellation acknowledgment from them.

This is where things get ugly. Just try to get customer service - no seriously. The three phone numbers I have managed to find are NEVER answered, other than occasionally a recording or a choice structure response that leads you a little way in before leaving you with a dead phone. As for e-mails - ha ha - forget it. No chance of an answer there either.

Customer service is non existent, very worrying when there is a financial irregularity to deal with.
