Ok - the good points. There are a reasonable number of genuine people using the site (though plenty of annoying spammers as well), the facilities and features work well and there is a chance of meeting someone.
The bad - if you use the three day offer you had better cancel it straight away as soon as you have taken it up. This is because they apply a three day notice policy to this (though it is not clear when you sign up!) and then proceed to take a full single month recurrent sub from your bank, even when you cancel and get the cancellation acknowledgment from them.
This is where things get ugly. Just try to get customer service - no seriously. The three phone numbers I have managed to find are NEVER answered, other than occasionally a recording or a choice structure response that leads you a little way in before leaving you with a dead phone. As for e-mails - ha ha - forget it. No chance of an answer there either.
Customer service is non existent, very worrying when there is a financial irregularity to deal with.
The worst thing about this site is the grab your money and run business ethic. Most worrying was that when I tried to cancel the recurrent monthly sub they set up there was no facility on the site to do it. I carefully followed their FAQ advice but the button to do this does not exist. I was left with no choice but to remove my entry/profile completely and wait with bated breath to see if they try to take more money! I am sufficiently worried about that risk that I have emptied the account to prevent there being any funds to rob from me.
As I said above - use at your own risk - you have been warned!
In summary, I would not recommend Date The UK to a friend.
