What a load of rubbish

Reviewer: Thoroughly Disappointed From Surrey from Surrey

Joined for 3 months. Not one date and nobody of any relevance contacted me.
No idea why other than, clearly, this site has very poor numbers of women in the late-40s age group.

Worst dating site experience ever (Match.com aside). Nice idea and nice site, but without the numbers? Avoid!

In summary, I would not recommend My Single Friend to a friend.

Lack of guys for the ladies

The thing I loved about this site over all the others were the profiles, its a brave move to have your friends write your ad for you, but it shows another side of people. The profiles of the guys in my search criteria all seemed very normal and lovely. ( I also checked out the competition, and was surprised at all the again, normal looking ladies looking for love)

I am a researcher and will research everything, however I did not research this enough. Firstly it is a candy store for guys but there is a total lack of guys aged between 37-42. I'm 37, a Global Manager, and not unattractive. Independent with great friends in London. I had come out of a long term relationship, so know I am capable of having a relationship.

When you join you are asked to respond to all emails sent to you, which I had done, unfortunately the normal looking guys left their manners at the internet dating door, and I got no responses. Unfortunately I have signed up for 3 months and in the past 2 weeks only 8 guys have joined the site in my search criteria.

When you run an advanced search of... (Read the full review)

Not for oldies

This site seems OK for younger people but seem to have very few people over 40 within 100 miles of me !

A friend registrated me and I was happy to have a go but didn't find a single person and no one contacted me.

I asked customer service whether this was the right site for me, I am 58; or could they recommend a site for the older person. They said to widen my search. I think looking for someone nearly 20 younger is wide enough.

I would not recommend it for anyone over 45 but there seems lots of people in their twenties and thiries.

In summary, I would not recommend My Single Friend to a friend.

Underhanded tactics at MSF - Consumer Direct investigating.
10 February 2011
Reviewer: SohoInLondon from UK

223 of 468 people found this review helpful

I am currently in talks with Consumer Direct as I believe I was misled into rejoining MSF due to an email I received.

I was a member of mysinglefriend for some months (during which time I can say I was very happy with the experience as a whole) and then unjoined. I received an email notifying me that a member had sent me a message. This was a member I was interested in communicating with.

I paid my subscription to rejoin the site only to find it was an automated mail sent by a member clicking the "No thanks" button. The user did not type one single word or sentence and so there can be no doubt that I did NOT receive a message from a member.

MSF refused to refund me the £22 subscription charge and so I had to contact Consumer Direct to address the blatent underhanded tactics employed by the company. Consumer Direct agreed that I had a case and I am currently in the process of getting the payment reversed via my Credit Card company (who also agree I have a case).

Mysinglefriend made it very difficult for me to contact them and even went... (Read the full review)
